Spielin' & Dealin' Ep. 27: State Championships moved back to Macon + Cabral Huff's MCAofGA Coaches Clinic (9/21/17)

Huge news broke on September 21st that the GHSA will be moving four of their eight basketball state championships back to the Macon Centreplex. The Centreplex last hosted the title games in 2015-16 when misplaced baskets and other snafus caused a national uproar. Kyle Sandy and Rameen Forghani weigh in on the new split between Macon and Georgia Tech. At the 17:52 mark, Duluth head coach Cabral Huff joins to discuss this Saturday's 2017 MCAofGA Preseason Tip-Off Basketball Coaches Clinic & Roundtable along with quick thoughts on the move back to Macon and a preview of the Wildcats' inaugural Big South Shootout tournament January 1-2, 2018.

Spielin' & Dealin' Ep. 26: Will Avery's Fall 48 Invite player evaluations (9/13/17)

The NFL officially kicked off this Sunday but instead Kyle Sandy was in Grovetown to check out some of the CSRA's top players at Will Avery's Fall 48 Invite camp. Each team had a handful of players evaluated with UCLA (3:05-8:40), Georiga (8:44-13:47), Georgetown (13:50-19:11), Duke (19:13-23:14), Oregon (23:16-26:10) & Kentucky (26:11-31:54) all discussed.

Metro Atlanta is the place to be this Saturday for two inaugural basketball events. Donte Medlock of Lock's Way Hoops (@locksWAY_OTR) opens up the episode with a look at his FreshmanU Camp showcasing some of Georgia's top 2021 prospects. East Jackson head coach David Akin (16:05) follows with a preview of his Team BELIEF Coaches Clinic held at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church Harp Center. Rameen Forghani peppers the owner of Sandy's Spiel on his process of coming up with the rankings and lets him defend where each player was slotted. Who are the best players left off at each postion, most likely future pro, biggest impact at the college level and what is the most talented position in the 2018 class among many others are all answered.

At 5:41 PM today, Wheeler principal Peter Giles announced on Twitter that the Wildcats had hired 2x state championship winning head coach Larry Thompson away from Greenforest to fill the void left behind by 6x state champion and 25-year leader of Wheeler, Doug Lipscomb. Kyle Sandy discusses what the move means for Wheeler and Greenforest as one school pegs the GHSA's most successful coach over the past two seasons while the other looks for direction in a crossroads for the program.
